It does not strike me as odd at all that the most creative people I know tednd to praise multitasking and engage in activities as different as the activities spectrum allows. I do however still get amazed by the fact that hopping from science to art (which I thought will be so hard to explain even to the people closest to me when my interest field suddenly switched from biochemistry to fine arts) delivers resoults beyond my immagination. It has proved now for so many times that having two such strong interest points opposing eachother within one’s desire to discover new approaches to the world around us is at least benefecial not to say crucial when blasting the bubble. Whatever your choice of science might be (so far phisics gets you very far in my opinion and analytical biology as well) and whatever art you choose as your passion (as long as you take it seriously and do not satisfy with afternoon needleworks but go beyond the expected just to wander into new discoveries) they’ll both push you forward and make you step out of the frame just to take a very good look at it and contemplate on the form and function it holds in our society.

Conclusion? I’m glad I’m sorrounded by people that have no othe modus operandi other than creative multitasking and know how to use the assets gained from art and science in the best of ways. Then again, I cannot stop giggling at the fact that they obviously have the tendency to be in the best of teams contributing significantly to the developement of good ideas and consequently winning at Seedcamps. I’m ready to call this group of people the “key ingredients” just to make other people think outside the frame.
